چکیده

This paper studies dependability of software implementation of DMC (Dynamic Matrix Control) and GPC (Generalised Predictive Control) Model Predictive Control (MPC) algorithms. Explicit formulation of algorithms is considered in which the control laws are calculated off-line. Dependability is evaluated usig software implemented fault injection approach. Tests are performed in the control system of a remotely controlled robot vehicle used in nuclear plants.

Dependability of the Explicit DMC Algorithm for a Rectification Process

The paper studies dependability of software implementation of the explicit DMC (Dynamic Matrix Control) Model Predictive Control (MPC) algorithm applied for a rectification column. The process with two inputs and two outputs with strong cross-couplings and significant time delays is studied. The algorithm’s control law is calculated off-line. Dependability is evaluated experimentally using soft...

Control and Cybernetics Fail-bounded Implementations of the Numerical Model Predictive Control Algorithms *

Abstract: Methods of fault-hardening software implementations of the numerical Model Predictive Control (MPC) algorithms are discussed in the paper. In particular, Generalized Predictive Control (GPC) algorithms are considered. The robustness of these algorithms with respect to faults is crucial for process safety and economic efficiency, as faults may result in major control performance degrad...

Brief Communication - Some GPC stability results

Model based predictive control (MBPC) has attracted much attention since the 1990s (see, for example, Garcia et al. (1989) and Richalet (1993)). The early MBPC algorithms, such as MAC (Richalet et al. 1978), DMC (Cutler and Ramaker 1980), EHAC (Ydstie 1984) and GPC (Clarke et al. 1987), are mainly based on input/ output models. Each has a few di€ erent features which distinguish it from the oth...

An Overview of Model Predictive Control

Model predictive control is the family of controllers, makes the explicit use of model to obtain control signal. The reason for its popularity in industry and academia is its capability of operating without expert intervention for long periods. There are various control design methods based on model predictive control concepts. This paper provides review of the most commonly used methods that h...

Using Interaction Laws to Implement Dependability Explicit Computing in Open Multi-Agent Systems

In this paper we propose to incorporate the Dependability Explicit Computing (DepEx) ideas into a law-governed approach in order to build dependable open multi-agent systems. We show that the law specification can explicitly incorporate dependability concerns, collect data and publish them in a metadata registry. This data can be used to realize DepEx and, for example, it can help to guide desi...
